Heterosexual. Technically, that which relates to being attracted sexually and/or romantically to people of a different sex or gender. In practice, it is usually a person of the “opposite sex,” as heteronormativity rejects the idea of there being more than two genders: it presents men and women as the opposite of each other (and the only gender options). Heterosexual attraction is often only for this “opposite” gender, but not always. Straight is used as a synonym for hetero; it can also mean the opposite of queer.
