Contraception. Different methods people use to prevent pregnancy from happening as a result of sex. Some methods put a physical barrier that prevents sperm from reaching the egg. Other methods are hormonal medication that usually prevents ovulation or the fertilized egg from implanting in the womb. Some people closely monitor their body as well to have a better idea of when they’re most likely to be ovulating, and avoid sex acts that could lead to a pregnancy around that time. Some people will pull out their penis before they ejaculate during penis-in-vagina sex to prevent pregnancy, but this is unreliable as someone’s main contraception method.
